Another Italian Painting

I drew this up in Italy on my last day there and I have been dying to start painting her.  My reference is incredible and I'm totally inspired with this piece.  I am trying to be diligent with not starting new paintings until I am finished other ones because coming back to an unfinished piece can be as tough as starting a new piece sometimes... So I have been patient...

Can't wait to finish her dress... have some ideas.  I have called her Katherine... some people in the Open Studio Workshop group said she looks like Katherine Heburn.  I loved that.  Katherine is English but Katherina is Italian... So I thought it kind of apt.  Will keep you posted.

Sooooo.... I am home!!!

I have finally found enough energy to sit down and download my pictures and start talking about my trip. I have no idea where to start... describing my journey, my experience and our time in Orvieto and Rome. It was so special... I am afraid my words won't do it justice. I also have to find a way to order the pictures and share them in a way that makes you experience what we did, with me. I took over 1200 pictures... I was trying so hard to capture the essence and magnitude of this beautiful place. Historically and visually aside... our time in the classroom studio was everything I could have hoped for and more. The new friendships that were made were such a delightful surprise. I feel like something deep inside of me has changed... for the better.
I am still fighting some exhaustion and a bug that I picked up on my way home... so I am sure I will be back to normal in this next week especially as I find my way back to life as I know it and back into my studio with so much inspiration...
Watch this space.
