Last day of holidays...

I can't believe today is officially the last day of holidays.  The past 3 weeks have flown by.  Today has been the coldest day of winter, for sure.  Although we are ready for the routine to kick back into place, we certainly aren't ready for the early morning wake-up calls, in this cold.  Not sure how on earth we are going to cope next week.

We had a slow start to the day and headed into town to pick up my passport and then we headed out for lunch, which has become a firm last day of the holiday's ritual.  We did a few other errants and headed home to huddle around the fire and gas heater...  Yes, it was that cold tonight that we had both running.  Digz made us a delicious stew while I conquered my mountain of ironing.  The cool part about doing that on a Friday night is that my weekend is now free... free to play!

Digz and the girls are heading into the mountains tomorrow with some friends to see the snowfall, while I'm heading off with a friend on a Stained Glass Window course... I think that's gonna be kind of exciting day for all of us!

My studio table...

I have a gorgeous 2m long art desk... I had it made for me about 3 years ago and it was stained dark wood... but it was time for a change.  I have been wanting to do this for weeks now... and tonight was my night.  I thought I would just start it and do it a piece at a time because it felt like a mammoth task but a few hours later, I was finished. I found some miniture old pics of the girls from an old school project and some old notes from people and they have also found their way onto this desk.  And I absolutely love it... My little art studio is a long narrow room so the desk fits in perfectly.  This is totally becoming my happy place.  It's creatively beautiful!!!  #Delighted!!

I woke up this morning with a painting in my heart...

I forfeited my usual gym class and food this morning and got straight to painting... I had a brilliant session in my studio as this sweet little English rose flowed out of my brush... Meet Annie.

She isn't finished yet but she's coming alive.  Still have some more layers to do and tweek a bit here and there.  But she's delightfully simple but the canvas is busy.  I prepped this canvas weeks ago as I wanted to use it as an experiment.  It is long and thin 24"x12" and I wanted to include a body on one of my girls.  When she's finished, I will share a full length picture of her.
Now let me get some food into my body before I keel over and get my running shoes on and hit the road for some fresh air...

It's been a beautiful day.

Flowrs went live today...

About a month ago I stumbled across Weebly, a free website design tool esp. for people like me. :-D.  I have been silently tinkering around and learning how to drive this design tool, that together with starting my new blog.  Both of which are new territories for me.  I found the blog very limiting in Weebly, so after much thought, I decided to go with Blogger for this section of my website and I am already enjoying this decision.  Today I not only settled on my blog, but also the templete and design of my site.  I feel it's a better representation of who I am.  For those of you who have been following my slow progess, I hope you like the new changes I made today.

I guess I have been shyly waiting to officially "launch" my website and I have just been slowly letting people know about it.  But today the word got out... my dear friend Mel, let all her arty buddies know.  So appreciate the shout out Mel.  #Hugs

For all of you who visited today for the first time...  Thanks for the kind comments and trusting you will find your way back here soon.
