Progress and decisions...

Corks is making steady progress with her life size art prac... eeeeck she has 5 days left to finish this and hand it in.  I know she's quite excited... as this year draws to the end and being able to tick off the final items on her to do list... before final exams start next week.  It's been a big year for her and been full on.

This is her final piece for this year.

I will share more next week when she's finished.

I know this week coming will be another heavy week for her.  Life of an art student - isn't the easy way out of subject choices.  I know she will have some late nights ahead in amongst 2 tests and studying for her final exams and she has another race next weekend - her final in the Nissan Trail Series.  Yip it has been piled on.

But on the flip side, we literally have 4 weeks left of this school year.

This week was bitter sweet as Corks played her final flute exam and played her final lesson.  She's been playing music since she was in Grade 1.  She has an exceptional gift of reading music, especially site reading and to me, has a beautiful sound on the flute.  But she's decided that with the pressures of her schedule next year and applying for universities - that she will be lacking the time to practice.  So to cut her load down a bit... we agreed for her to hang up her beautiful instrument for a year.  We won't sell it - it will always be hers and who knows when she will pick it up again.  We hope that it will be something she will always find her way back to.  I have never played music but it was something I wanted to give my girls - the ability to read music and play it, as a gift.  And she will always have that.

So proud of this child of mine and her courage!
She's fearless and one of the hardest working humans I've ever come across.
She comes from a long line of exceptional hardworking women!
And she reminds me everyday what {remarkable} looks like.
